Jammin’ at the Black Box
Reggae king Jah Tubby will play the Black Box, on Saturday 11 August. Jah Tubby ran his first dance in the UK in 1971 and, since then, the Jah Tubby’s Sound has grown into one of the biggest reggae sound systems and production outfits in the world. Tubby’s East London outfit produces music, cuts vinyl, and builds customised amplifiers and speakers for reggae sound systems. Like King Tubby in Jamaica, Jah Tubby began building his own sound system equipment to do justice to the reggae cuts that were being produced in the UK and Jamaica.
