After taking a long break from the music biz, dancehall reggae ragga toaster/dee jay, pretty boy Eddie Karratt has returned. Sounding more confident and mature with a smashing catchy track call " loosers calling them self producers".We decided to sit down with the man him self at a cafe in down town montreal Canada after a flight in from Miami Fl for a one on one interview.

DBM: bonjour Eddie Karratt !!

EK.: Bonjour madam. My french is not that great. Are we going to do this interview in french?

DBM : No! actually i wanted see if you spoke french!

EK : A big white smile , then a very low voice saying Not really.

DBM : How did you get started in the music business.

EK : I started out in the 80's on a sound system call "Face's Hi Power" in Yallahs St Thomas to gain some experience as a mic chatter, with colonel lloyd, super man and super kong (twins)Bammy Man and Shaka Shamba. Then i moved on to join Arrows International along side Beenie Man, Cutty Ranks, Super Cat, Coco Tea, Professor nuts, Leslie Thunder, Chicken chest and Ignorance. Then in the late 80's i smashed up a show at Gun Boat beach in front of 14,000 rocking and screaming fans. Then my name went global when i was called on stage to do a live set with my idol King Yellowman. I will never forget that experience.

DBM : listening to your single "loosers calling them self producers" it's very catchy who is this message directed at..

EK : This message is to the youths of today who have dreams of being the stars of tomorrow. My advise is to them, be care full with whom you entrust your music career with, handle you business right. I am also lashing out at loosers calling them selves producers, and reducers calling them self producers, or broke pocket loafters calling them self executive producers. I have dealt with a few in the past few years.

DBM : Is this why you started StreetLife Entertainment Inc

Ek : Yep!I want as much control as possible over my music career. like Master p, P Diddy, Jay Z or shabba ranks,Buju banton,Shaggy and Bob Marley,Super Cat just to name a few.

DBM : Where do you see your self now in the music business ,like how things have really change alot from the days of the past.

EK : I see my self fitting in right now very well. I am much more mature ,smarter and i am more aware of the direction i want to take. Beenie Man and shaggy is from the same dancehall era as i am and many of todays younger heads are still not able to attain their level of success. King yellowman is also booked solid every month.Plus Reggae and dancell music is more global than ever right now. Remember I am returning not as just an artist but as a Ceo of Streetlife Entertainment iNC With a Marketing degree in business. Plus i have been keeping my ears to the streets, while attending as many award shows as possible. it's a big difference.

DBM : Word on the internet is that Streetlife Ent Inc has inced a clothing deal. Is that true? and please tell us a little more about streetlife ent

EK : StreetLife ENT has just inked a clothing deal with a fashion house in miami, in which we'll provide executive fashion. Ties, business dress shirts , pants ect and we are in the process of inking a world wide distribution deal. Plus we have many internet radio stations supporting us world wide. We are working smart not hard. And at the same time we are getting payed, not played.

DBM : Are there any tours planned

EK : We, meaning my self and the crew will be touching down in Toronto in Jan 2007. Then Miami and we working out some thing with Island Ent & Coco tea for Dancehall jam jam a show that's broadcast world wide.

DBM : If some one want to contact you to get their Demos heard how can they go about that.

EK : They can contact my a&r dept personell at admin@streetlifeent.com or you can log on to www.StreetlifeEnt.com or www.StreetLifeEntertainment.com . We are currently updating the site but you can still log on and send us an email message..

DBM Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule for this interview.

EK: you're welcome and we will keep you posted on our world wide internet fashion clothing and label launch coming soon 2007!!!
